Our memory is from the first day that Manuel’s opened during COVID. My husband and I found out the restaurant was going to be open so we said let’s go. When we got to Manuel’s there was a news station’ doing a story about businesses trying to reopen and stay afloat amid the pandemic. We were approached by the reporter and asked if they could film us walking in while the host took our temperature at the door. We said yes. The whole thing was so surreal. We had masks on and sat socially distanced with plexiglass between every booth. This memory will be etched in our minds forever and I’m glad that Manuel’s is part of it and that it survived the pandemic.
