In mid-March 2020 my wife and I thought places were going to begin closing because of COVID so we decided to make one last trip to Manuels before the shutdown. So we went out on Monday, March 16. When we got there, only two other tables were occupied. We ordered our enchiladas and margaritas and had a great meal. When we finished, we were the only folks left in the restaurant. The manager came over and thanked us for being there and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer on our next visit. Sure enough, the shutdown happened the next day. So my wife and I have the distinction as being the last people to eat at Manuels before the COVID shutdown. We are happy Manuels has survived the COVID shutdown and the closing of the Arbor Theater.
