My large family has spent so many wonderful times feasting over delicious meals at Manuels over the years!! We started going there in the very early 2000s-after a long day of shopping or before catching a movie at the Arbor. We were almost always a very large group-15 -20 and had so many great times in the cozy yet lively dining room or even better on the amazing patio under the trees! The green chicken enchiladas, relleno en nogado, the never ending fresh salsa…! One September afternoon in 2002, we were there having an early dinner before going to a movie, Killing Me Softly. Right as drinks were being passed around, my enormous 9 month belly began to send shooting pains in every direction…the salsa had put me into labor! our favorite waiter, Juan Julio (at least that is what we called him), quickly turned our order “to go” and we took Manuels to Seton, had a baby boy, and then a delicious feast! We resumed our regular outings to Manuels with our growing family about a month later- SO MANY GREAT TIMES at MANUELS- great, fresh food, incredible consistent service,and fabulous dining atmosphere…We love you Manuels and value you as an OG superstar in Austin!!!
